Oh Tuesdays.... why are you so cruel?

Yup, it's the time again, patch day... 8 hours of no ao... how can we go on?  By blogging about the game, of course!  Here's a link to the patch notes (click me, click me!) if you want to read them... but here are my favorite updates:

Increased guild points from higher division pvp matches and guild quests (remember, you can do 5 a day and get enchant stones as rewards and the love of your guild leader)

Rates button on the jackpot window to see how much the item is worth before doing the jackpot challenge (no more guessing games!)

New town in Southeast Asia... I can't wait to see the bidding war!!!

and my most favorite update..... drum roll please

Characters below level 50 will receive a gift for being logged in for a certain amount of time each day!!!  Apparently there will be a timer so you know how long until you get your gift, I hope it's something wonderful :)

I've missed spending this evening chatting and playing with you all, but we can look forward to some fun new things tomorrow when the patch is done!

  3. They only retire if you set them independent. And once they hit 60, if you don't set them independence they'll live forever with you. Atlanticans are immortal. And nah, just joking on the comment lol.

  4. 60 as in age 60. They will never leave you unless you fire them or set them as independent, which means they live alone and ask for items from you. If you do this enough times the friendship reaches max, you get rare items that are useful in game and only obtainable by setting a mercenary independent. I don't plan on using that system, it's hell getting to the high levels to my taste without cutting one loose and then feeding them items on request, but it would be useful for the end game sauce.

  12. Nope, haha I just realized I didn't explain that well. At age 60 you can't set them independent, that is setting them lose from your party. They need to be level 100 to do this. A mercenary will never leave you unless you set them individual, but they cannot be independent after age 60. Age only has that purpose, if you wanna keep your mercenaries forever always never set them independent or fire them. Hope that was a tad bit clearer, don't worry about them leaving you :p

  13. Also at age 60 if they are not set independent then they can never bet set as so. If they are age 60 and independent, they will permanently retire.
